NSW Health Minister Jillian Skinner and Mental Health Minister Kevin Humphries last week launched the NSW Service Plan for People with Eating Disorders to improve access to care for people.
Minister Skinner said the NSW government would commit over $15.2 million until 2018 to fund enhancements to community-based care and inpatient care.
"This funded, five-year plan represents a giant leap forward in the treatment of eating disorders in NSW," Mrs Skinner said.
"The NSW government is committed to building clinical networks - public and private - to provide a range of treatment options for those with eating disorders.
"Through this plan, we will increase access to inpatient and community-based services, build the capacity of our clinicians to treat those with eating disorders and support the ability of people with eating disorders in regional communities to get earlier and more effective treatment."
