Morning radio shock jock Ray Hadley bought into the issue attacking the NSW Police Association for displaying a "disgraceful lack of support" for the two officers.
Senior Constable Carl Giusti and Constable Frank Shields were found not guilty after a two-hour deliberation by a jury on August 8 following a lengthy trial at Dubbo District Court.
Mr Hadley launched an almost six minute diatribe criticising the NSW Police Association and its president Scott Webber, and the fact the two Wellington-based officers had applied three times for financial support and had been rejected.
"Can someone tell me what the police association is for, if not to protect its members when they are found not guilty in these circumstances," he said.
He also criticised the police force which, he said, was still holding the officers on suspension even though they had been cleared of all of the charges.
"What the bloody hell is going on?" he said.
Mr Hadley said while he was a supporter of the association and its president, he would not support it while "two men are left out on a limb".
Orana Local Area Command acting commander Inspector Alan Cusack said the matter was before the regional commander Geoff McKechnie who is reviewing the case.
Mr Hadley said on air the NSW Police Association had told him they would not be commenting on the case.
