Living now on the 5062-hectare cattle property Yellow Mountain, 75 kilometres from Condobolin, Mr Cummins is enjoying life away from the ocean's edge.
A country boy at heart, Mr Cummins' mother was from Goulburn and father from Yass, and he had always wanted to own a property.
"You can take the boy out of the country, but you can't take the country out of the boy," he said.
He said the family had owned the property for 11 years, living on it full-time for the past four.
In November last year Mr Cummins retired from a more than a decade-long stint with the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI), where he was the worldwide international vice president, marketing metrics and performance.
He was also the chief executive of PADI Australia for many years up until 1999.
Mr Cummins began a career in the dive industry including a stint in scuba retailing as the managing director of Pro Dive, SeaLife Travel, editor-in-chief of Underwater Geographic magazine and involvement in the production and promotion of several underwater documentaries.
Mr Cummins is the recipient of several prestigious awards including; Australian scuba excellence award, Oceanic Legends award and the OZTeK award (recognising the contribution to the development of technical diving).
