In the 24-hour period to 9am yesterday the city benefited from 11.4 millimetres (mm).
Thursday night’s rain, combined with the 35.4 mm that fell across three consecutive days earlier in the week, brings the total rainfall for Dubbo as of yesterday morning to 46.8mm.
The long-term average rainfall for the month of June in Dubbo is 43.1mm.
Dubbo once again was in the right place at the right time, faring better in the rain stakes than most of its neighbours.
Rainfall recorded in the day leading up to 9am yesterday included 4mm at Coonabarabran, 2.2mm at Coonamble, 3mm at Trangie, 7.2mm at Condobolin, 5.2mm at Wellington, 7.2mm at Geurie, 5.8mm at Dunedoo and 7.2mm at Mudgee.
Dubbo was pipped by Parkes where 16mm was recorded.
The Bureau of Meteorology’s central west region rain figures were better than those of communities in the far west and north west regions.
Bourke did not get a drop in the 24 hours to 9am yesterday, while Cobar received 1.4mm and Walgett 0.2mm.
Rain is forecast for Dubbo from tomorrow until possibly Thursday.
There is a 70 per cent chance of 5 to 10mm tomorrow, a 50 per cent chance of the same amount of rain on both Monday and Tuesday, and a 60 per cent chance of 5 to 10 mm on Wednesday.
On Thursday there is a 70 per cent chance of up to 5mm falling in the city.
