An estimated 15,000 to 18,000 people throughout the night edged ever-closer towards the stage as Dubbo's own Peoples Palace led an all-Aussie line up of emerging bands followed by Seth Sentry, Ball Park Music and The Rubens.
Fuelled by the excitement of his first One Night Stand, Sydney DJ Flume walked onto the stage 10 minutes earlier than scheduled announcing "Dubbo" to the crowd, before walking off stage.
The 21-year-old returned with a 45 minute dazzling stage show to cap off an evening filled with a festival atmosphere unlike anything Dubbo has ever seen before.
With the event broadcast live via triple j radio - and to a viewing audience of around 100,000 on ABC 2, One Night Stand generated a buzz about the city from thousands of outsiders unable to attend the event.
For many on the ground Saturday night, the city "shone" in a way they believed would be "unrivalled" for some time.
Sydneysider Allanah Witton told the Daily Liberal: "It wasn't what we were expecting from Dubbo.
"I think people from the city have certain perceptions about Dubbo from what we hear in the media but we've been really surprised by it - it's nothing at all like we expected - and we've had a great time."
Dubbo City mayor Mathew Dickerson was among Saturday night's revellers, and agreed - hoping the exposure generated from the live concert over the past month would have rippling economic benefits for the city.
"It's really put the city on the radar for all the right reasons," Cr Dickerson said.
"One Night Stand and triple j have helped give the city a real shot of confidence."
In the month leading up to Saturday, the city's official website dubbo.com.au attracted some 6600 views of its own One Night Stand page, accounting for 5636 unique browser visits.
The jump in visitation again exploded as of Friday with a further 2000 page views and online inquiries for accommodation and services across the city.
"I think what it's shown is that the city has the capacity to hold events of this scale. We are open to the possibility of staging, maybe, an annual event of this size should somebody want to come in and do something."
Local charities also fared well from Saturday night and while official figures are still being tallied, its believed revellers splurged upward of $60,000 on food and merchandising going a long way in annual fundraising activities for groups such as Rotary.
"That's plenty of Saturday morning's spent selling raffle tickets and barbecues out the front of Bunnings for our local groups," Cr Dickerson said.
For the city's emergency services, Saturday night's event, bouyed by a contingent of rugby league fans in town for the inaugural Group 11 All Stars match at No.1 Oval, couldn't have gone off any better than it did.
Despite the massive influx of people and the continual stream in and out of the showground, police drug detection dogs stopped only 21 partygoers, found with an undisclosed number of illicit drugs.
Of those several have been charged and issued court attendance notices while police issued a number of cannibis cautions.
Orana Local Area Command's Inspector Brad Johnston said the massive police operation was made easier by a generally "well behaved" crowd.
"It was disappointing that people did try to introduce drugs to the concert," Inspector Johnston said.
"Overall police feel the concert went very well and the crowd behaviour was good."
Despite the massive crowd only one other reveller was removed from the event by police.
However, the St Johns Ambulance tent was kept busy with 82 partygoers requiring medical attention throughout the evening.
According to the NSW Ambulance Service only four of those tended to throughout the night required further treatment.
Two women aged 47 and 30 were treated at Dubbo Base Hospital in unrelated incidents, as was an unconscious male who was taken by paramedics from the scene.
However, Dubbo Base Hospital has confirmed all were discharged on Sunday.
