Twelve months to the day after he was captured, the former Dubbo resident and fugitive entered guilty pleas to the murder of both Lateesha Nolan and Kristy Scholes, in a Sydney court today.
Mr Peet who was speaking to the Daily Liberal from his daughter's home on the Gold Coast said it had been a sleepless night for him and his family as they awaited today's hearing.
"Nothing will bring Lateesha back but we are glad with the guilty on all charges," he said.
"We just got a month long wait to find out what the sentencing will be."
Mr Peet said the plea has provided some resolution, but it has been an anxious wait.
"It's a relief, it's another part of the eight year long wait for justice for Lateesha and Kristy, as well," he said.
Mr Peet said he would like to see the death penalty reinstated.
" I feel strongly about it, a life for a life," he said.
"You see so many times people get charged with murder and then they're back out on the streets not long after."
"I hope he gets put away for a long time, once a murderer always a murderer I reckon."
Naden will face a sentence hearing on April 24.
