MORE than 600 young athletes from a vast area of NSW converged on Dubbo last weekend for the Little Athletics regional carnival held at Barden Park.

With spots at the state carnival on the line, a number of top performances were put in over the course of the two days, including from 17 Dubbo athletes who will now take the next step to compete at Homebush later in the year.
