A fast-moving fire headed towards the Orana Juvenile Justice Centre and other property in West Dubbo was stopped in its tracks on Wednesday afternoon by a well-oiled machine.
The Orana team of the NSW Rural Fire Service, its volunteers, and Fire and Rescue NSW crews saved the day.
The fire is being investigated by police.
Water bombing aircraft were also used yesterday evening to get the fire under control.
The fire burnt out 25 hectares of grass land.
