A YOUNG family including a six-month-old baby boy, eight-year-old boy and a 15 year-old girl have escaped their burning property near Narromine after their 55- year-old father evacuated the homestead.

The property about 40km from Narromine has suffered more than $200,000 damage after a grass fire destroyed a house and machinery.
Five Rural Fire Service (RFS) trucks attended the blaze on Mungery Hall Road that was reported at 6.05pm on Sunday.
The Mungery Brigade arrived at the scene of the fire 10 minutes after receiving a call.
Trucks from the Bogan brigade, two tankers from Narromine and another RFS tank from across the Bogan River also converged on the property.
The grass fire on the property was under control within 10 minutes of the RFS arriving.
It took firefighters about two hours to extinguish the fire.
The fire was contained to an area of about 10 acres by firefighters.
Orana Local Area Command (LAC) duty officer Inspector Alan Cusack said the 55-year-old owner of the property initially discovered the fire near the back door of the house.
"The fire, which is believed to have started in a garbage bin quickly spread under the house and into surrounding piles of building materials and machinery," he said.
A John Deere header comb was badly damaged in the fire.
Fire crews remained at the site on Sunday night to ensure the fire did not spread.
An investigation is underway.
