Moderation the key on New Year's Eve

Dubbo residents are reminded to take care with new year's celebrations and to monitor alcohol consumption.

Ambulance Service of NSW Ambulance Acting Commissioner, Mike Willis said there were some clear trends in what both services expected to see, particularly a high degree of risk-taking and alcohol-related violence.

He added the New Year's Eve tradition of drinking large quantities of alcohol was a cause for serious concern.

"Excessive alcohol intake to the point of unconsciousness is a drug overdose which is life threatening," he said.
