Minister for Human Services Senator Kim Carr encouraged the Dubbo community to take advantage of new, more convenient ways of doing business with Medicare.
"We've recently introduced a range of new claiming options to make it easier for people to claim with Medicare," Senator Kim Carr said.
"The new claiming methods offer alternatives for people who want to claim at the doctor or from home at a time that suits them.
"The number of Australians enjoying the benefits of these flexible, easy and quick claiming options is growing rapidly and we've had very positive feedback since they were introduced."
Duty Senator for Parkes Matt Thistlethwaite said Dubbo doctors had come on board in droves to help locals make claiming easier.
"Twenty-one doctors in the Dubbo area now offer doctor claiming, meaning you can claim your rebate at the doctor's without having to make a second trip to Medicare," Senator Thistlethwaite said.
"Check with your doctor or Dubbo Medicare staff to see if they provide this service.
"You can also claim from home or on the go when you register with Medicare Online Services, which are available 24 hours, seven days a week.
"Alternatively, claims can be made by calling 132 011 at local rates at any time that suits you best. You can also still claim at your local office, or by sending your claim form by mail."
