Charles Stanley Watson did not enter pleas to two charges of drug supply, two charges of supplying prohibited drugs on an ongoing basis and an additional charge of committing an act to pervert the course of justice.
The 62-year-old from Trundle did not apply for bail when he was brought before Magistrate Andrew Eckhold.
The Department of Public Prosecutions said plea negotiations had reached a stage where facts could be finalised.
The prosecutor said the charge of perverting the course of justice was being reviewed by the Crown and was likely to be dismissed.
All charges were adjourned to January 9.
Co-accused David Joseph Turk, 41, and Timothy James Ryan, 38, both of Nyngan, have also been charged with the alleged supply of methamphetamine.
Four lever arch folders of telephone intercepts have been submitted by the Department of Public Prosecutions as part of an extensive brief of evidence.
The recorded telephone calls refer to 65 alleged drug transactions.
