RSL-COLTS opener Kieran Henry fell agonisingly short of a century but did enough to help his side to a big win over Macquarie at Bob Dowling 2 on Saturday.
Henry batted through 25 overs as he made 94, with his innings including 10 boundaries and five sixes.
While he didn't crack the ton, he did set up his side's innings, and combined with a quickfire 60 from Pat Cuskellym, helped Colts to a score of 252.
While most of the Blues bowlers were reasonably expensive, Daniel Thornton was a standout as he finished with 4-27 off seven overs.
Needing more than a run a ball from the outset, Macquarie needed a good start but they failed to get that as Mitch Cook (4) and Dave Murray (5) fell early to the bowling of Sam Campbell.
Jono Davies then chipped in with the wickets of Blake Jones (7) and Nathan Robbins (25), just as the latter looked to be seeing the ball well.
The only real resistance after this point came from Ray Cusack, who made 38 as Macquarie limped to be all out for 125 in less than 30 overs.

Craig McGrath belted 74 as Rugby YDs' middle-to-late order came to the rescue in their 95-run win over Colts YDs on Saturday.
McGrath arrived at the crease with the score 3-55, and that became 4-55 shortly after when Lachlan Harper fell to the bowling of Jacob Pearce.
With Kyle Munro providing assistance, the pair put on a 111-run partnership that only ended when Shaun Lucas dismissed McGrath with six overs remaining in the innings.
Munro made 23 before some lofty late hitting from from Craig Woodrow (37) helped the Rugby side reach 8-207 from their 40 overs.
Lucas, who came on as sixth-change bowler, proved to be the pick for his side, finishing with figures of 2-22 off five overs.
In reply the Colts YDs could only manage 112, with Mick Davis belting 25 to top score for his side.
Lucas made 17 at the top of the order while Brendan Jayasuriya made an unbeaten 14 at the end of the innings.
Blake Watmore, Cayden McGrath and Lachlan Harper each took two wickets for Rugby YDs.

Rugby opener Clint Hoy earned the three points in the best and fairest after scoring 47 runs and taking a wicket in his side's 31-run win over Newtown.
Hoy and Pat Berryman (30) put on 87 runs for their opening stand but his departure marked a mini-collapse which saw Rugby lose 4-7, as Newtown's Brian McKinnon took a hat-trick with the first three balls of his second over.
Rob Child (22) and Shane O'Leary (19) got things back on track for Rugby, putting on 40 as the side got to 167 when the last wicket fell in the final over.
McKinnon finished with 3-19 off four overs while Tom Barber also got three wickets.
Newtown's reply, while at times looking threatening, failed to gather any major momentum as they consistently lost wickets just as it appeared a partnership was looming.
Ben Bunt batted well for 21 while McKinnon chipped in again with 23 lower in the order but eventually they were bowled out for 136 with more than four overs remaining.
Shane O'Leary took three wickets to lead the way for Rugby while Rob Childs chipped in with 2-14 off eight overs.
