New kart season ready to rev up

05 Feb, 2009 03:00 AM
Dubbo Kart Club starts the new season with the first race meeting at the Lincoln Park Raceway at Brocklehurst on Sunday February 15.

The 2009 season promises to be one packed with speed and excitement as some of the top guns of the sport go head-to-head and wheel-to-wheel in order to tally up the points to win the highly sought-after title of club champion in their respective classes.

With racing for all ages from seven years and up, the new racing season will prove to have a little bit of something for all the family.

Dubbo Kart Club boasts a fantastic family atmosphere with a heavy emphasis on fun and safety.

Although very competitive in every class, the club has an enviable reputation as being one of the friendliest and safest clubs in the sport.

Dubbo is also one of the best circuits in the country with some of the finest facilities available for both the karters and the spectators.

Last year Dubbo hosted numerous high-profile events including the inaugural Gold Cup and the IAME Leopard Series Final which saw karters travel to the city from all over Australia.

A canteen and kiosk serving both hot and cold foods together with a variety of refreshments is available at very reasonable prices at each meeting.

The Dubbo Kart Club welcomes anyone who wishes to become involved with the club and take part in one of the “cheapest and safest forms of motor sport”.

The club currently has one kart still available for use by a junior karter in Midget or Rookie Class, (up to 12 years of age) for the first five club meets (5 months), for anyone interested in becoming a member and entering the sport without the initial outlay of purchasing a kart.

Further information about this opportunity is available through the Dubbo Kart Club and can be provided through attendance at any club race day.

The Dubbo track is located 1km north of Brocklehurst on the Newell Highway.

Admission is free with plenty of parking and under cover seating available for all spectators.
