Picking up Ben Webb as women's premier league coach is part of a great package deal Orange CYMS have grabbed this year.
CYMS have obtained the former Dubbo women's premier league coach after his partner, NSW Country and former Dubbo defender Jodi Sharp, signed with the Orange side for this year.
Sharp was the first player to link with CYMS after she played in the NSW Country side last year with former CYMS co-captain Annie Hope.
When Sharp made the move Webb talked to the CYMS executive and decided to switch.
Webb, 28, said he and Sharp would still be based in Dubbo and travel each week to training and games.
"I have a business in Dubbo so we'll commute," Webb said.
"We'll train once a week in Orange and Jodi and I can come over on a Friday night if the girls ever think they need a second training session."
Kristy Lew, another Dubbo player, is also expected to join CYMS in 2006.
Webb has a wealth of playing and coaching experience behind him.
He plans to bring all the experience to the CYMS players and especially the juniors.
"I played at state level at the ACT when I was at uni," Webb said. "I came back and coached St Pat's my first year back. I've coached Dubbo for two or three years and I've coached junior NSW sides.
"I like to focus on the juniors and their development. CYMS have some really promising juniors like Shian Duboc and Kayla Orrock."
Players will be travelling from Dubbo and Sydney each week to play for CYMS but Webb is happy for junior players to make the step up when seniors are unavailable. Webb is planning a pre-season training weekend in Sydney in March where they will play games as well as set goals for the season.
