McDonald kennel all smiles

GREYHOUNDS: The Kylie and Wes McDonald kennel from Springside near Orange celebrated the win by $2.50 favourite Daddy’s Echo in the Greyhound Racing NSW Blue Paws Maiden Final over 313 metres at Dawson Park on Saturday night.

This was the Dubbo club’s first night meeting for the summer with 10-races conducted under cool conditions.

The main event on the program created some keen betting with support for most runners but all honours were with Daddy’s Echo.

Starting from the two box, Daddy’s Echo (Big Daddy Cool x Aruba Assassin) led all the way and despite running wide on the home corner proved a little too strong for the fast finishing Miss Taro ($2.90) and Lickin Steel ($7.00) in a handy 18.47s.

Before Saturday night the red and fawn dog had had eight runs with best efforts being two seconds and a third. The dog now has a win and two minor placings from four starts on the loam at Dawson Park.

Training honours on the night were shared between the Greg Ford (Dubbo) and Paul and Paul Braddon (Cowra) kennels.

The Braddon team got things off to a bright start when Charming Chelsea took out the Dubbo RSL Maiden Stakes (313m) in a smart 18.42s, overcoming a wide draw (8) to record an easy five lengths win. Win number two was in the Dubbo Pet and Stock Feeds 4th/5th Grade Stakes (516m) when Janderra’s Mate ($3.00) had a tad too much class for his opponents powering home to score in 30.63s. Lamington ($3.00) battled on well for second after leading, with Intrepid Jet at $3.50 third.

The Dubbo based Ford camp kicked off their night when youngster Out Breaks Bingo ($1.50) led all the way in the Free Choice West Dubbo Mixed Grade Stakes (516m).

Backing up from his handy first up second last Saturday, Out Breaks Bingo registered a 30.68s win to indicate a bright future ahead for the Addis Boy x Forget Bingo sprinter.

Wise Koda at $3.50 indicated a win isn’t far away with a solid performance to finish 2.25 lengths second while Maximiser ($4.00) was third.

The $1.70 race favourite Eenie Meenie Moo completed the winning double for the Ford family in the Ausure at Dubbo Stakes (400m).

She pinged to the lead from box rise to score an almost identical win to last week with a 23.36s win.

Backing up from her Maitand run on the Thursday, Baroda Pearl ($4.00) battled away well for second with Maelstrom ($2.50) third.

Top flight flyer Fifield Lass - prepared by Dubbo club president Bryan Maxwell - kept her imposing short course record intact with a sizzling 18.17s win in the Complete Image Stakes (313m).

Starting favourite at $1.50, Fifield Lass also broke the first sectional split running a slick 4.49s.

Marco Keeping ($3.00) justified his short quote with an easy all the way win in the Outwest Pumps and Irrigation Stakes 9400m) for local trainer Charmaine Roberts.

The History Lesson x Only Keeping sprinter pinged the lids from the seven box to lead clearly, running 9.23s for the split and an overall time of 23.30s. The minor place getters were race favourite at $2.10 Bonds Cargo and Erin Mist ($6.00).

Pee Wee Pickering took out the Carpet One Dubbo Stakes (313m) with new acquisition Royal Court ($3.00) who scored in 18.87s, while another good run came from the Tom Miller (Yeoval) trained Miss Red Fox ($3.50) who returned to her best form with a 18.57s in the www.greyhoundsdubbo.com Stakes over 313m.

The Tim Coen (Narromine) trained Nooda ($3.10) was also impressive taking out the Job Care Cleaning Stakes (400m) in a smart 23.39s leading all the way from the five box. Yantarra Sam ($3.50) and Superb Desire ($3.00) filled the minor placings.

The Dubbo club next races on Saturday, November 29.
