The Galah CC is an overseas invitational touring team established in 1975 by southern NSW country cricket icon Allan Boyd of Goulburn.

The Galahs have travelled and played in some 30 countries being the first Australian cricket club to play the Paraguayan, Slovenian, Slovakian and Croatian national sides.

The Galah CC recently won the ABC Grandstand Australian Cricket Club of the Year.

The South East Asian tour took the Galahs firstly to Singapore playing two sides - one the 156-year-old Singapore Cricket Club. The Galahs recording strong wins in both games.

The tour moved into Malaysia facing off against two Malaysian National XI’s where unfortunately the Galahs were beaten soundly in both games.

Although Aaron Etcell was the standout with the bat for the Galahs, Jarrod Simpson and Al Horrocks did well with the ball.

The Galahs returned to club level games and recorded their first win in Malaysia by comprehensively demolishing the Royal Sengalor Club another 100-year-plus club, Colwell top scored and with Maher remained unconquered to cruise to victory.

The tour headed north to the island of Phuket, Thailand where the Galahs met the Phuket Cricket Union.

Tthe Galahs plundered the Phuket bowlers in the first match with Etcell at one stage landing a ball into the resort car park from a lofted on drive over a 20-foot fence.

Simpson managed a few runs and Horrocks as always was tireless and best with the ball.

In the last game of the tour the Galahs faced off against Phuket’s strongest side.

The Galahs amassed 310 off 35 overs with little assistance from Simpson.

After been repeatedly informed that pulling a ball over the stadium roof due to safety concerns is an automatic dismissal, proceeded to plant one over such roof to be ‘out’ in single figures.

All the Dubbo players got among the runs with Colwell recording the only century of the tour with 132 off 70 balls and being dropped on the boundary in reaching his hundred.

The next Galahs tour will be to the Phuket International Sixes in April next year before travelling to England and Ireland in July to August where they will also support the Australian Cricket team in the defence of the Ashes.
