Preferred option sought for Dubbo Base Hospital redevelopment

08 Feb, 2012 03:00 AM
A Dubbo Base Hospital “stakeholders” meeting this month aims at selection of a “preferred option” for its redevelopment.

The Western NSW Local Health District hopes that by mid-March it will be able to unveil the plan to the community.

A spokeswoman revealed the approaching “milestone” in the planning for the almost $80 million stage-one redevelopment, set to begin in early 2013.

She had earlier reassured the community that the departure of hospital general manager Andrew Newton would not disrupt the planning process.

The spokeswoman said the health district’s chief executive Ron Dunham and director of operations Lynne Weir were “very involved” in the project.
