A man was airlifted from Trangie to Dubbo Base Hospital after a dirt bike accident yesterday.

The man believed to be a 22-year-old from Trangie, was flown about 5pm yesterday from the oval opposite the Trangie hospital to Dubbo, after two ambulances attended the scene.

He was riding his motorcycle on the dirt track in Trangie when the accident occurred, according to ambulance officers who attended him.

An ambulance officer said he believed the man had a broken arm and broken leg, but did not have any other serious injuries.

He was in a stable condition last night, a Greater Western Area Health Service spokesperson said.

The spokesperson said he believed the man would be kept at Dubbo Base Hospital overnight.
