A fundraiser for award-winning songstress Sharon Lane and her family will be held on July 12 at the Dubbo RSL Club Resort, as the talented musician battles illness.
Money raised will support Ms Lane when she returns to the Royal Prince Albert hospital to have two tumours removed from her brain on July 23.
Three years ago Ms Lane recovered from brain tumour surgery and went on to win a Victorian and National Country Music Award among other accolades.
Last month the much-loved singer revealed two tumours had returned.
Ms Lane is a familiar face across Dubbo and has regularly appeared at community fundraising events.
Kept busy since her latest diagnosis she has not had much opportunity to dwell on her illness and the upcoming surgery.
“It sounds a bit weird - I’m so busy I don’t have to think about it,” she said.
Although Ms Lane and her family were trying to stay strong - it’s still tough, she said.
“It hit my family hard this time.”
Ms Lane is not looking forward to facing surgery in a few weeks.
“Heading to Sydney will be a reality check,” she said.
There will be performances by The Buddy Knox Blues band, local bands, Talbragar-Wiradjuri Aboriginal didgeridoo craftsman and performer Lewis Burns, rock and roll dancers and various other artists.
Sharon said she had had overwhelming support through messages and donations by local businesses and the music industry.
“Troy Cassar-Daly and Tania Kernaghan donated signed music packs,” she said.
