Community’s generosity felt by local sick kids

07 Nov, 2009 03:00 AM
Not a day goes by when the generous support of the local community doesn’t continue to grow.

Thanks to those who supported the Woolworths Fresh Food Kids Hospital Appeal at their local supermarket Dubbo Base Hospital childrens’ ward has been handed $15,000 to spend on some much-needed equipment.

From August 17 to October 11 Woolworths supermarkets across Australia ran community fundraising events for the

Fresh Food Kids Hospital Appeal.

Paediatric ward nursing unit manager at Dubbo Base Hospital Deanne Dent said the hospital is extremely grateful to Woolworths for their continued support and thanked the Dubbo community for getting behind the appeal.

“On behalf of Dubbo Base Hospital I am delighted to receive a cheque for $15,000,” she said.

“This money will enable us to purchase a theatre trolley

and new beds for our kids ward.”

Woolworths area manager John Graham extended his thanks to all the customers and the Woolworths staff who had contributed time and money.

“We thank all our customers who have helped raise this extraordinary amount,” he said.

“Woolworths is proud to continue to support Dubbo Base Hospital.”
