Sentencing submissions were yesterday made on behalf of a Dubbo woman who pleaded guilty to a single count of supplying a prohibited drug on an ongoing basis.
Megan Finn was arrested after a drug bust in West Dubbo in March last year.
The charge related to an alleged extensive drug supply network of amphetamines, operating since 2008.
Finn told the court yesterday she had a problem with drugs and was participating in the SMART program while in custody to address the issue.
She also said she was working while in prison.
Finn told the court she had been working on and off at the time of her arrest at a business in Dubbo.
The Crown prosecutor told the court the amount of drugs Finn had been involved in was five and a half times the indictable quantity.
A six-month undercover police operation exposed the drug supply network last March.
The police work included the use of listening devices and telephone intercepts, and among the allegations was a $10,500 payment for drugs as part of the investigation, Dubbo Local Court heard early last year.
Detectives from the NSW State Crime Command’s Firearms and Organised Crime Squad and officers from the Orana Local Area Command arrested the five co-accused following months of investigations in Dubbo houses and the McDonald’s carpark.
In 2008, Strike Force Hebbard was formed to investigate the supply of illicit drugs from Sydney to Dubbo, in what was called a controlled operation.
Finn will be sentenced by Judge John Nicholson in Sydney next month.
