The big top has rolled into town and kids of all ages will be treated as Stardust Circus brings its high-flying, exciting show to Dubbo.
The first of 13 shows was held at the Dubbo Showground last night with the lions, monkeys, flying trapeze, clowns and acrobats keeping the crowd enthralled.
This is the first time the Stardust Circus has rolled into Dubbo and according to performer Glenn West, the move has been a resounding success for the company.
"Ticket sales have been fantastic and really justified our decision to include Dubbo on the schedule," Mr West said.
"We usually head to places like Broken Hill and then down to Mildura but we have decided to explore some unchartered places and we decided on Dubbo because it gives us a chance to see the zoo and a few new places."
Stardust Circus averages six shows a week across the country and has come to Dubbo after stints in Cunnamulla, Nyngan and Bourke.
Mr West said all the usual features of the circus would be on show.
"The animals really make the show and draw the people, and we have performing lions and monkeys," Mr West said.
"But we also have flying trapeze acts, other acrobatics and some great clowns to perform throughout the shows."
The circus will show through to Sunday before taking a three-day break.
Shows will re-commence next Thursday and run through until Sunday August 31.
Tickets for the shows start at $12 with ringside seats for adults costing $30.
Tickets are available at Snares Newsagency in Talbragar Street or can be purchased from the big top an hour before each performance.
