IT IS the most monstrous of acts of evil and most alarmingly, child pornography use is reaching epidemic proportions in Australia.
The Federal police have issued a stern warning as paedophiles use easy-to-obtain technology to record themselves molesting children before swapping the images with other abusers.
Investigations are uncovering massive amounts of this disgusting material as the images and videos are being used as “currency’’ by abusers to buy their way into transnational groups that trade the material.
The head of the Australian Federal Police serious organised crime unit, Assistant Commissioner Kevin Zuccato, told Fairfax media,( publishers of The Daily Liberal) where federal police would once have been overwhelmed by finding hundreds of images on a suspect’s computer, they were now finding hundreds of thousands and even millions.
In the Victorian regional centre of Ballarat a man, who stole two mobile phones and a wallet, turned himself in to police when he discovered one of the phones contained child pornography.
He admitted to police he was bad, but not that bad to react in such a manner when discovering this material.
Children are the future of any community, large or small, regional or rural. We, as a society, must do all we can to stamp out this blight on humanity and to teach our children such material and behaviour must not be condoned in anyway.
It is vital we do so and act as quickly as possible.
